Our team seeks to empower current and perspective scientists to not only reach, but exceed, their potential impact on scientific and societal communities. See below for various avenues to engage our organization:
K-12 Educators: Contact Nick for potential outreach events, educational materials based on scientific research, seminars, and other opportunities for engagement.
High School Students: There are often internship opportunities at the PNNL Marine Sciences Lab in Sequim, WA. Please contact Nick for current opportunities.
Undergraduate Students: Internships are available annually at the PNNL Marine Sciences Lab in Sequim, WA through the US Department of Energy, Science Undergraduate Lab Internships (SULI) program. Undergraduate research assistants are also often needed at the University of Washington Seattle Campus (contact Nick for current opportunities).
Graduate Students: Contact Nick for current opportunities at the UW main campus and/or PNNL Sequim office. Current undergraduate students interested in graduate school should discuss ideas for fellowship applications such as the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. There are also opportunities for current graduate students to spend a fellowship at a national lab, such as PNNL, through the DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program.
Postdocs: Contact Nick for current opportunities at the UW main campus and/or PNNL. Consider discussing ideas for potential fellowships such as the NSF Postdoc Fellowship. The UW Joint Institute for the Study of the Ocean and Atmosphere (JISAO) also has an annual call for postdocs with open-ended research themes.
